Reviews - Film Making Training, Lothbury Centre 17-18th Jan 2009 Chris Fuller FFTV Technical Assistant
On Saturday 17th January Elliot Grove from Raindance Film Festival based in Londoncame to talk to us about film making. Elliot gave us books to read, info about marketing our DVDs and how to write a hot script.
His tips on how to make a film included things like planning your budget and what to spend it on as well as ways to get things for nothing or not much money. He was a very interesting and inspiring person and showed us some short film clips and trailers for the Raindance Film Festival to put his point across.
On Sunday Chris Thomas, a director who also works with the Raindance Film Festival came in to show us how to use our cameras better. He taught us about perspective (how things can be near or far away) and how to direct and how to look at lighting to make our films look great. He told us about the different roles that people take on when making a film from the Producer, Director of Photography, Director, Editor, Boom Operator, Sound Recorder and of course cameras.
